Dr. Ruthann Carr

Dr. Ruthann Fox Carr is a native of Mason, OH. After 14 years’ experience at a busy Cincinnati practice, she returned to her hometown to open Mason Family Pet Hospital in 2003. She received her D.V.M. degree in 1989 from the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine, and holds a bachelor’s degree from Miami University.

Dr. Carr grew up on Fox Run Farm in Mason where her family had cattle, ponies, dogs and cats. Her father, Thomas E. Fox, M.D., was a popular family physician who served the community for over 35 years. These two influences stimulated her desire to become a veterinarian from a very early age.

Her favorite areas of veterinary medicine include soft tissue surgery, ophthalmology, complicated internal medicine cases, and behavioral problem solving.

In her free time, Dr. Carr is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Mason. She is secretary of the Mason Scholarship Foundation. She enjoys traveling, camping, cooking, and spending time with her husband, two adult children, their pekingese mix Nellie, and their two cats Jerry and Oliver.
