From routine surgical procedures, such as spaying and neutering,

to more complex surgeries, we will make every effort to ensure

that your pet receives the very best care. We are capable of

performing soft tissue surgeries such as tumor removals,

abdominal exploratories, bladder surgery, and eye surgeries

as well as orthopedic procedures such as cruciate ligament

repair, fracture repair, and limb amputations.  Our doctors

often work as a team during more complicated or challenging

procedures to give your pet the combined expertise of

more than one experienced surgeon.

We will compassionately care for your pet before, during, and

after surgery in order to ensure a safe and complete recovery

for your pet. When you drop off your pet for surgery, he/she

will have a designated veterinary technician and doctor who

will address any questions or concerns you may have about surgery. You will receive the name and contact information for the veterinary technician and doctor assigned to your pet so that you feel more comfortable while your pet is in surgery. When your pet is ready to go home, we will review your postoperative care and medication instructions. If any questions arise after your pet returns home or at any other time during the postoperative period, call us. We welcome your questions and will do all we can to help your pet recover fully.

Anesthesia
Many pet owners are terrified by the thought of their pet undergoing anesthesia. We never want this fear and uncertainty to prevent pets from receiving the medical care they need and deserve. Rest assured, at Mason Family Pet Hospital your pet will receive safe, comprehensive, advanced anesthesia care from our staff of caring doctors and registered veterinary technicians.

We perform a variety of pre-anesthetic tests to carefully screen patients and tailor our anesthetic protocol specifically for your pet. Our trained staff monitors your pet before, during, and after anesthesia to help ensure the best possible outcome. We use modern monitoring equipment to measure oxygenation, respiration, ECG and/or pulse rates while your pet is under anesthesia. During recovery, our patients are placed on special cots under a warming blanket in our treatment area so that they can be directly observed until they are ready to stand up and walk on their own.

Additionally, we also offer free nail trimmings with any exam or anesthesia procedure.
